STELLARTON - Owners of a local pawn shop are asking for the public's help in identifying an object that recently came into their store,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Chrissie Jamieson of the East Coast Pawn Stars in Stellarton said an unusual object was recently brought into the store and is drawing a lot interest,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but few answers.
She said the item came into the store a few weeks ago with a customer who was looking to sell some goods from an old home,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. He found it in a dresser drawer and it peaked the interest of the owners,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
"Some people said it was a pipe cleaner,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a hat pin or a watch repair tool,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Jamieson. "It's been well taken care of because the chain doesn't look like it has ever been broken."
Jamieson said the object,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which includes a retractable hook,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is made of nine carat gold.
This is the first object since its opening seven months ago that has stumped the owners,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], she said. They've had some unusual items come in to the store, but they are always of some interest or recognizable by someone.
"We had one man come in and sell the gold fillings out of his false teeth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," she said. "I don't even know why you would want fillings in false teeth."
The business owners said they have a few local experts they turn to for advise on items,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but so far no one has been able to come identify this object.
"If we can't find out what it is through the paper, we might send it off to the show, Pawn Stars," said co-owner Terry Jamieson.
The owners of the Stellarton store,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which will be expanding in the near future, contacted the owners of Pawn Stars in Las Vegas when they first opened last summer in hopes of getting an autographed picture to hang on their wall.
"It said press three for pawn counter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so I did and I am quite sure it was Rick (Harrison) I was speaking to,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said co-owner Denise MacRae. "He laughed when I was talking to him and he has a distinctive laugh."
